This feels too on the nose to be real, but (gestures around at the world) it has to be, right?

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

Bray is a historian at Rutgers who received death threats after landing on Turning Points USA's Professor Watchlist. As a result, he announced he was moving to Europe. And then this happened.

This kind of harassment and abuse of scholars is Charlie Kirk's legacy and it's only getting worse.

“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

I'm excited for Limp Bizkit, but I'm a little worried about Antifa...
Question
I'm sick and tired of seeing these thugs terrorize big events and am worried that they will try to interrupt Limp Bizkit's set. My gf (F19) and I (M31) are going to our first Lollapalooza and are concerned about the growing threat around the city

The very first riot after a George Floyd protest was started by a white supremacist nicknamed "Umbrella Man."

He spraypainted "free shit" on an AutoZone, broke the windows, and encouraged others to come in. abcnews.go.com/amp/US/man-h...
Man who helped ignite George Floyd riots identified as white supremacist: Police
A masked umbrella-wielding man helped incite riots and looting in the immediate aftermath of George Floyd's death, police said.

🧵 Trump is criminally invading states under false pretenses. His supporters are trying to instigate violence by dressing as antifa and committing crimes.

In this clip from Portland, Joey Gibson of "Patriot Prayer" and his fiancée, Lindsey Nichols, tried to cause trouble before being forced away.

This is a key piece of the attacks we’re seeing on all levels of education: A public that distrusts teachers and professors is a public that is primed to allow government leaders to divert public funds—meaning taxes—towards tech billionaires and their questionable products.
jessicacalarco.com
Fueling distrust in teachers--particularly among vulnerable students--might also be by design. Because tech companies have a great deal to gain financially if they can persuade families and policymakers that AI can replace teachers in struggling public schools. 3/

This is what the people love and expect as the new normal and we have to resign ourselves to accepting that.

What's infuirating is that these idiots intentionally crashed the job market so that we would all either be forced to work for ICE or create AI slop.

Yep. He appealed to the cruelty and entitlement inherent to the culture of white America, and they nearly trampled each other in their rush to eagerly embrace Trump as their new Golden Calf.

Yeah and it’s pretty revealing the sweet talk he broke out for the cops to great effect was essentially telling them they’d be able to beat the shit out of people.
noreen900.bsky.social
Just like he did with the farmers. Sweet talked them and they fell for it. At least most of them did.

Never forget... This whole rotten spectacle is a 100% accurate representation of white America. The only thing that's changed in the past few years, the only difference between now and how it used to be, is they've stopped pretending this isn't who they are, and that they don't love being this way.

The Right's obsession with their fictional idea of "antifa" isn't just about their lies, or their need for a bogeyman, or that it's another smokescreen for their bigotry, the fact that so much of white America eagerly embraces this nonsense shows just how ugly, mean, and dumbfuck stupid they all are

no they're LITERALLY exaggerating this issue. there is absolutely no data backing up their claims. ffs just say that!!
NBC news: The discussions come as Trump has sought to deploy National Guard troops in several major cities — including Los Angeles, Chicago and Portland, Oregon — saying they’re needed to reduce crime and protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials from protesters. Critics have said that the Trump administration is exaggerating issues in those cities.
