Welcome! It's important for people who don't know me to understand how I will use this space:

I genuinely care and try my best. I am not a bad faith actor. My life is built around navigating extremes while also advertising an esoteric art career to support my family+friends. This is a messy goal.
jonathanvair.bsky.social
Had tried it already, unfortunately.

I can't open it up to get some rubbing alcohol in there, because there aren't even visible screws. I wouldn't know how to describe the stickiness, but thank you for offering.
jonathanvair.bsky.social
Thanks again for being flexible.

Seems like a softwear error. I used the official channels to drop 'em a note, but who knows how long it'll take. I just have the worst luck w/technology.

Colors on the Switch is no longer working, including with my multiple styluses and tests on a Switch 2.

My most used button on my Tourbox is sticking, and I can't repair it.

I like the challenges of digital art, but hate the enshitification of it all. Sorry clients, doing my best.

Mid-Autumn Festival is coming.
My group of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is planning to hold a party with Kirin dancing and also buy food for children who are victims of Agent Orange in Danang, Vietnam.

Let’s help them out!

Spot on comment about the constant calls for art censorship. Complaining about fiction is easy and lazy. Working on real problems is hard, but that's what the actually good, moral people do. Censoring a few drawings isn't going to reduce anyone's suffering.

If you hate seeing dub/noncon in art and you want less of it in the world, build some third spaces. Help organize accountability in your faith communities. Build local harm reduction resources.

If you'd rather just complain, may life help you understand the genre eventually.

"Every day, trans people are offered a choice of being free or being safe. Both is never an option. Many people receive neither. Whenever we choose to be free, to take a chance on any kind of joy, some small part of us has an awareness that we could die for this."

I feel this so deep in my bones.

You offered a lot of helpful responses on this topic here
, and I wanted to thank you for putting in that work.

Whenever the question of ________ fetish comes up, I really wish people asked, "Why do they like it?"

I see so many furries casually joking about executing people for sex thought crimes, as if people opt into fetishes.

I'm fine with the discussion if it's ever about meeting material needs.

You can be squicked or uncomfortable with any dub/noncon art and/or porn you see. I am sometimes.

If I try to ban it w/o understanding the underlying traumas and needs of the work, I'm being a self-centered asshole and deserve a call-out.
jonathanvair.bsky.social
How'd I flip on the topic? I learned of the countless examples through history where art and roleplay were used to bring healing to victims of abuse.

A Jewish woman got cancelled for writing about the mere existence of Holocaust-themed sexual roleplay from both sides of the genocide.
jonathanvair.bsky.social
Saying this as someone who _used to be_ explicitly anti-noncon, Do NOT separate yourself from this issue.

The people in charge of these censorship rules never care about how consent works.

They don't care about sexology.

They don't care about victims, creators, or any motives but their own.

The bad news keep coming

These go into effect Oct 15th
D. Adult Content: We provide a safe space for consensual adult expression by requiring clear consent and stopping abuse.

i. We allow consensual adult sexual content, including fictional depictions, when appropriately labeled and subject to appropriate age restrictions.

ii. We do not allow sexual content involving non- consensual activity including synthetic, simulated, illustrated, or animated versions.

We’ve skimmed applications and really need more of this representation:

💜 Sub-Saharan African
🩷 Turtle Island/North American Indigenous
💙 Polynesian
💚 Visibly disabled

Please share/tag people so artists in these communities will see this (paid) opportunity!! ✨

A graphic with a vibrant rainbow background, announcing "Artist applications now open!". The white text box below reads, "Artist applications are now open for 'We've Always Been Here', a queer history zine. Let's show everyone that queer people have always been a part of history. This is a paid opportunity, contingent on our Kickstarter successfully funding." Beside the text box is a digital illustration of a north African girl with short, curly hair, wearing overalls, sitting beside an easel with an oil painting she's made of another girl.

Well, if you need me, I'll be over here trying to fix a multi-year-long problem I warned would happen, after years of everyone but me being too passive to proactively resolve conflicts before they fester.

Please fight the fash instead of your peers, y'all. 🫠

From understanding the lies, pain, and selfishness of others, it kinda left me with this superpower. I still need to stare at the ceiling sometimes. I still cry.

But when you build collectivism AND set your ego aside, it equips you to handle things many in your position could not.
jonathanvair.bsky.social
But years later, getting cancelled outside the fandom in is much more embarrassing. People don't have negative furry stereotypes here; just the cognitive dissonance and passive communication necessitated by liberalism even on the so-called Left.
jonathanvair.bsky.social
The worst parts of #MeToo (like the clunky projection of male CEO predators onto much smaller largely queer and eclectic fandoms) meant seeing people choosing call-outs over call-ins. They'd also conflate discomfort with harm.

Knowing the stage and players aaaaalmost makes it hurt less.
jonathanvair.bsky.social
If, God forbid, you ever get cancelled for things you simply didn't do, you can't really change to fix anything. The . But you CAN use it to understand how it happened. You can more deeply understand psychology + sociology basics, healthcare reforms, and especially Disability Justice.
jonathanvair.bsky.social
This kept going into the COVID19 isolation years, which poured gasoline on that fire. Lots of time to think at home, not a lot of time to pour into your local communities. We all got gaslit into normalizing the ongoing COVID deaths and disabilities to this day. Most of us still look the other way.
jonathanvair.bsky.social
Do you use your social media feed to admit that a mostly good thing like #MeToo also contributed, in part, to the thing that almost took your own life away from you?

Even if it IS the truth, doesn't that take the attention away from the victims with different gender markers and races than my own?
jonathanvair.bsky.social
At least three of my close friends and myself were victims of false cancellations. We were all trans, furry, and at the mercy of our creative skills, so you really could destroy someone with a callout, earned or not.

Still, we all knew the fake callouts were statistically less likely. So what do:
