Ate too much cheese, so struggled to sleep and instead stayed up thinking about inequality. That's so intensely my personal brand.

Been playing a lot of Virtua Tennis 2 on the PS2 (actual masterpiece, one of the best-feeling games ever made) and apparently it's been almost 15 years since the last proper game in that series? Failed civilisation.

The Greens requested an interview on the Laura Kuenssberg Show with Zack Polanski when he was elected leader, but were denied, with a promise to interview him during Green conference instead.

This was then scrapped citing the Manchester synagogue attack. Polanski is both Jewish and from Manchester

Streeting looks like the less cool version of the ventriloquist doll from the first season of buffy, so surprised ham is a legitimate upgrade

Credit where credit's due. Whilst the PM does seem to be a callow, juvenile and entitled leader, it is very funny that he looks like surprised ham.

NEW: breach of Discord age verification data.

Including some users passports & DLs

Age verification is a badly implemented data grab wrapped in a moral panic.

Mark my words, as age verification mandates expand, we'll end up more surveilled and less secure. 1/

You know I think we're going to have a 'did Labour win or did the tories just lose' type question when green membership overtakes Labours.

It shouldn't be as hard as some people seem to make out to recognise that islamophobia, anti-semitism, hate in general, all needs to be absolutely, unconditionally, condemned every time without any form of whataboutery or "but this..." etc.

Men in balaclavas set fire to a mosque in East Sussex last night. It's only appearing on the BBC's local coverage, rather than its main national headlines, despite coming just a week after the (also under-reported) firebombing of an asylum hotel in London last week

I mean, of course he did. But also I don't think that's too bonkers With current polling. The two dominant parties in the UK imploding one after the other would be something.

British politics is "moving into" a contest between the Greens and Reform, the former's leader Zack Polanski told PolHome

He said he was "very open" to “progressive, particularly left-wing" about defecting to the Greens

What are they gonna do? Listen to experts and treat people with dignity and not contempt? They'll run out of issues to weaponise if they do that.

British politics is basically a doom spiral of increasingly unhinged hostile policies.

Reform says something unhinged

Labour counters with their own unhinged policy

Tories shout from back they'll be even more unhinged

Reform announces different unhinged proposal in response

Until the government stops repeatedly carrying out actions that harm and kill people and have a cumulative effect, like genocide, repeated protests will always be necessary.

NEW: Home Office announces planned new anti-protest powers, mainly aimed at pro-Gaza protests like those for Palestine Action. Police will be able to consider the "cumulative impact" of repeated protests and potentially order that they be relocated.

Sunday #FOI request offer:

• Are you using FOI request for your research or project?

• Have you maxed out your 30-day FOI cost limit with a specific government department (or other exemption)?

If so, please feel free to reply below with the gov dept and your request, which I’m happy to submit

All the people breathlessly defending this government and trying to guilt people into ignoring reality with threats of a reform government are just not the sensible serious people the branding they enjoy implies. And they're twats.

We really need the @greenparty.org.uk to do well. The news today is awful more crackdown on protest. More restrictions on immigration that will do even more social and economic damage to our country. Higher energy bills. If it wasn't for the Green Party, I'd be lost in despair.

The government want more coercive powers for the state against protests, and the main opposition party wants more coercive powers for the state against migrants.

Our political-media culture continues in a loop where the response to every perceived problem is yet more coercive powers for the state.

My partner was getting something out of my car and found a pair of ladies undergarments that weren't hers. Upset, she confronted me, and I said 'dear, that's just student politics' and she got embarrassed and hasn't brought it up since. That was 80 years ago and we're still together.
