I’m against all political violence. The assassin should be tried and imprisoned. But kirk did not “practice politics the right way”. He invited violence against LGBTQ and other folk. He doxxed faculty to silence speech.

After yesterday’s SCOTUS decision, everyone knows the answer to this question:

“Would I have maintained a cowardly silence if I had been in Germany when the Nazis began chasing, harassing and detaining people for looking or being Jewish?”

Oh, such an interesting thought! That episode rubbed me the wrong way, and you have put words to what bugged me.

This is despite continued use of multiyear funding. My estimate is the multiple funding has blocked the awarding of ~1500 grants, had grants been funded on the usual annual basis. This includes 4-year R01s, excess 2-year R21s, and other awards.
