Totally agree on this point. I live in Los Angeles County, which has around 10 million people in it. There are only 10 states with more people in them. The people who live here come from all over the United States to be here. It doesn't get more Real America than this.
Another good practice for the New Year would be for all the non-fascists in America who want to opine about politics to really begin believing that urban America is Real America & that its denizens are The Authentic People. Get some self-respect & drop the volkish nationalist view that they're not
And I think liberals should stop taking the bait and ceding ground on immigration.

Immigration is good. Multiculturalism is good. Free trade is good. Stop being embarrassed to say so.

I have questions.

1. How does an armada completely surround a country that is not an island? Venezuela is landlocked to the south, east, and west.

2. What land or oil did Venezuela steal from the US that is within the country of Venezuela?

I affirmatively do not want this. I want Trump and his ilk thrown out of power and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. And I want the political earth they inhabit salted for generations to come.

That's a 20 out of 20 for me.

I think this might be one of the dumbest things I'll read this week. This woman is in a customer facing role. She failed -- epically failed -- in that role, and was a terrible racist on top of it. No amount of worker protections would protect that conduct.

Why the Cinnabon Story Doesn’t Make Me Happy
The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.

This is a tremendous victory. An ordinary person defeated the government, which was acting wrongfully and vindictively against him for no reason other than government officials were caught in a mistake, then caught in a lie, and decided to quadruple down on their failures.

And the reason they can't ever come up with a plan is because they don't really want to solve any actual problem. And even if they do want to solve something, the only tools available require *more*, not less, government intervention.
"The reason the party fails over and over again is Republican health plans are the policy equivalent of what the tech industry calls vaporware—products that are perpetually in development, and are sometimes even previewed or demonstrated, but never quite make it to market." (Suderman, 2015)

We're going to end up invading an imaginary country with weapons that only exist in movies.

So, he's actually sick with something. Got it.
Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

I love this.
Rachel Gilmore on the anti-DEI movement: "I think that to attack these notions is a dog whistle to the worst elements of society that are seeing a slide towards a more fascistic world. And every politician who engages in that should be ashamed of themselves."

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

Stephen Miller is one of the biggest douchebags in the history of the United States. Imagine being the direct beneficiary of birthright citizenship and then turning around and calling it an atrocity.

You know, the Trump Administration cranks out a lot of terrible news on a daily basis. But today is just bananas. Just a few choice gems.

This administration is full of the most disgusting people.
BREAKING: Trump administration plans to end prison rape protections for trans & intersex people, memo says. A DOJ memo says certain standards under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) do not align with Trump’s Jan. 20 anti-trans executive order, @byadamrhodes.bsky.social reports.

This is the stupidest argument. Creating crappier health insurance plans doesn't improve anyone's life, it just sets them up for failure and medical cost bankruptcy. These guys don't even care about the people they represent and they sure as hell don't believe in making their lives better.
Chip Roy: "We need to give freedom options for the average hardworking American family so you can afford a catastrophic plan, go get health sharing, be able to have something that you can be able to go to the doctor of your choice rather than enriching insurance companies."

No one wants these anymore.
December 4, 2025 at 7:48 PM
He's just the most disgusting person.
Trump on Minnesota's Somali community: "They contribute nothing. I don't want them in our country, I'll be honest with you."
December 2, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Call me when they have some interest in doing something about all the white Americans killing Americans with guns rather than picking on an outlier and tarring an entire group of people -- who commit crimes at rates lower than domestic born citizens -- with the actions of one person.
Leavitt: "The Trump admin is now actively reexamining all of the Afghans imported into the country by Biden. Any individual who threatens our national security or citizenry will be subject to removal. Trump has already permanently paused migration of foreign nationals from 3rd world countries"

There is a 100% likelihood that Hesgeth cheered in the broey-ist way when the second shot killed those guys clinging to the wreckage for their lives. He's just a bad human being. There's no getting around it. He is the worst of what the military and right-wing media could combine to create.

LA is the correct choice.
Bluesky: “Obviously the housing crisis is the only reason anyone would choose to live outside of NYC”

Actual Americans: “Vegas, baby!”

People think this is a great idea until they are on the wrong side of it. And then it's too late. These morons have never figured out what health insurance is actually for.
Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."

Worth remembering at all times that Trump is just an asshole.
Q: Why wait for Congress to release the Epstein files? Why not just do it now?

TRUMP: It's not the question that I mind. It's your attitude. I think you're a terrible reporter. It's the way you ask these questions. You start off with a man who's highly respected asking him an insubordinate question
