I no longer believe that frequent strongly worded letters to our representatives in Congress, intermittent demonstrations in our town squares, or carefully choreographed media campaigns are going to stop the regime’s procession to full fascist rule.

I believe we need a general strike. 1/7

We are seeing the Trump regime—and it’s various supporters and enablers—set the Constitution alight in front of our eyes, with the intent to destroy the ‘rule of law’ and replace it with the ‘rule of might’, replete with a masked secret police, concentration camps, and a shadow court of injustice.
joshuafaile.bsky.social
I wish it was hyperbole or pessimism to say we are no longer a constitutional republic...

…but it isn’t, given the controlling majority in all three branches of government are currently outright ignoring the Constitution in favour of enforcing their far-right, techno-/christo-fascist ideology.

I think it’s important to clarify that you don’t have to be “good” at fascism to be fascist, just as you don’t have to be “good” at genocide to be committing genocide.

In fact, most fascists are pretty terrible at both, until circumstances shift to allow them to be “good” at it for a short time.
joshuafaile.bsky.social
Many historians assert that the fall into fascism is often quite mundane for *most* people outside of the scapegoated groups and formal opposition, because fascists exploit the fact that many people are willing to turn a blind eye to the suffering of others if *their* life remains relatively normal.

I bet at least half the country is like this - they have no idea that anything is happening except that things are more expensive. Even if they knew, even if they thought it was concerning, it doesn't matter if they don't do anything. I think it's possible to have a war without many people noticing.

BREAKING: I’m currently in a craft brewery and gastro-pub in Austin wearing a wire covertly questioning several suspected Antifa terrorists about their radical ideology of wanting every American to have affordable healthcare, housing, and food.

There can be no compromise with those who want us fed.

Can’t decide which is the wilder use of “BREAKING” by a government official:

1. “BREAKING: I’m launching undercover operations” — Texas Attorney General

Or

2. “BREAKING: MSNBC still an ass clown factory” — FBI Director

Because—as everyone knows—the safest way to survey a “war zone” is to stand atop a low rise building at mid day with a camera crew wearing tactical hair extensions and urban Steve Jobs black camo jean fatigues, sans body armour, in full view of every other building within 300 yards.

Truly heroic.

This is the sort of thing you would see from a mean girl in high school going up against her arch nemesis in a debate ahead of the election for class president.

“You call yourself pro-lunch options, but you buy your lunch at Chick-fil-a almost every day!”

Reuters photographer Jonathan Ernst noticed that Bondi flipped open a file during the Senate hearing and he zoomed in.

Inside were her crib notes for attacking the senators.

The GOP now practicing Cliff's Notes Fascism

In other words, under oath Bondi was purely a performance.

And is still, in my humble opinion, the wrong person for the moment and will ensure Collins wins another term via a “she’s not actually much different, so better the devil you know” strategy.

I was once a fan of Mills but her recent decisions (particularly several vetoes) have soured me to her.
joshuafaile.bsky.social
I know Graham and he would be the first to say he is far from perfect. But he is a genuinely great, earnest person that cares about people, human rights, democracy, and bringing our nation back from brink of collapse under the Trump regime.

He has my endorsement (and my time volunteering).
joshuafaile.bsky.social
Literally no one.

I was at a political action planning meeting tonight and everyone in attendance—some being fans of Mills—said, in no uncertain terms, that they did not want her entering the Senate race.

It almost assures that Collins wins.
joshuafaile.bsky.social
I know Graham and he’s absolutely not another Fetterman. Barring a stroke that completely changes his personality (which I have it on good authority is what happened with Fetterman), what you see/hear is what you get with Graham: a genuinely great human being that cares about people and democracy.

Can someone—anyone—explain to me why calling the Trump regime fascist means all of us have “given up” fighting it?

I was under the impression one of the first steps to solving a problem is acknowledging, with grace and humility, there is a problem and honestly calling it out?

Am I mistaken?

Unfortunately, UK citizens can be (and have been) arrested for “incitement”, “hate speech”, and “support of a designated terrorist group” for things they have posted online (including Bluesky), particularly after recent new gov guidance, which has included the banning of Palestine Action.

Anyone know if the day spa the Trump regime transferred Ghislaine Maxwell to has a fifth floor?
joshuafaile.bsky.social
Pam Bondi is—without a doubt—the least qualified, most inept, demonstratively corrupt Attorney General in modern American history.

And that is saying something given Bill Barr was the AG during Trump’s first term.

Anyone outside of the US is watching this and simultaneously laughing and crying.
atrupar.com
"This is supposed to be an oversight hearing" -- Schiff helpfully ticks through all of the incriminating questions -- and there are many of them -- that Bondi refused to answer during today's hearing
joshuafaile.bsky.social
We’ll have to agree to disagree as to whether the federal government (and its approach to governance and its own citizenry) has fundamentally changed under the Trump regime.
joshuafaile.bsky.social
As is always the case with these congressional hearings involving Trump regime members, Bondi’s entire pathetic, norm-destroying performance was intended for an audience of one.

It was just another in an infinite series of loyalty tests until the regime determines she has outlasted her usefulness.

BONDI: I'm not going to discuss anything ongoing

Why are you framing this story within the regime’s crafted narrative, @npr.org?

They have already defunded you.

Do you think if you fully capitulate now, disseminate their propaganda, and alienate most of your audience, they’ll welcome you back into fold with open arms?

Because they won’t.

Try this number one trick for carving a beautiful #Halloween pumpkin:

Mike Johnson shutdown the government to protect Donald Trump—and many other members of the American Fascist Party regime—from being fully exposed as a paedophile, child rapist, and child sex trafficker.
joshuafaile.bsky.social
For some, a 50% increase will look like a bargain.

Many people—particularly those that own small businesses—will be seeing their premiums double.

In some areas, for certain households, prems may triple or quadruple.

This is just another way the American Fascist Party is destroying people’s lives.

Hey you Kool Aide drinking cultists. The cost of your healthcare insurance is about to go up by 25-50%. You’re good with that, right?

I know so many wonderful, civic-minded, compassionate people that ran for school board and either lost because of vile smear campaigns by Trumpian challengers or—in some cases the worse outcome—won but then resigned or left after a single term because of the horrific abuse they suffered.
