Obviously, this is amazing BUT the thing I love most, is that it's directly poking fun at the desire/fetish to overanimate overlapping action & smears.
Asking someone of James Baxter's calibre to *intentionally* do this (as well as mess up the spacing on a bounce) is funny in the nerdiest way.

look i wasn't gonna say anything but when you hear "10 years in the making" from a game by jonathan blow just know that a game never takes 10 years because of good employee relationships and clear leadership direction

LRT this is where the fixed camera angles and pre-rendered backgrounds of a lot of early era 3D games really came in handy but hyperrealistic modern games never even consider bringing back something like that to get an idea across
