Crony capitalism isn’t bad for some vague ideological reason. It’s bad because it creates profound harms to most of the economy. The leader’s toadies become extremely wealthy while everyone else suffers.

Look at Russia: a land of bottomless misery with the occasional oligarch.

Something I keep coming back to in my head is that once they've reached the "we will kill your kids to achieve our goals" stage it means they feel certain that we will never have power over them ever again bsky.app/profile/auto...
At some point we as a people just tell them “fuck you”. I’m there already and willing to fight for my country and to pry it from their cold dead hands

They're going to destroy public education in the United States - part of their plot to enslave us - and they don't care how many of our kids need to die to make that happen. This is explicitly what all the people who helped Trump win were trying to achieve.

the idea that a handful of conservative legal scholars have an understanding that should supersede a settlement affirmed my generations of american is astoundingly arrogant, and the idea that trump — or any president — can unilaterally overturn that settlement is just despotism

also, let’s say wurman is right. well, we have had nearly 160 years of unlimited birthright citizenship that has been affirmed again and again by generations of Americans. whatever the original intent, that is what the birthright clause *means*.

The people pushing for the elimination of birthright citizenship are currently committing atrocities against immigrants within our country's borders and murdering fishermen overseas. This cannot be ethically discussed as an abstract legal question. There is no law here, only a fascist will to power.

more than 80% of Americans support and trust childhood vaccines. Ds, Rs, leaners, independents. This is as close as you can get to public opinion unanimity and Dems should put this madness front and center in every election until these deranged murderers are defeated and hounded out of public life.

like, the SC switches every time one party has control of all three branches is better than the SC is a right wing monstrosity all the time forever. the latter being what we have now.
