For better or worse, public figures are judged when they die — their character, contributions, beliefs. It's undeniable that millions have mourned Rob Reiner's tragic death, celebrating his talent and contributions. I suspect when a certain public figure kicks the bucket, sentiments wont be the same

There are flyers circulating and even mailers showing up in people’s mailboxes in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District that list the wrong date for the upcoming special election. Voters are being told to vote on the incorrect day.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.

All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

Great piece by Charlie McGill about the one place in the country experiencing a recession right now: the DC metro area, which after the federal worker purge is seeing the beginnings of mass migration and a real estate collapse.

Laid Off by DOGE and Leaving DC
The federal government is the economic backbone of the District of Columbia as well as Maryland and Virginia. The sudden mass layoffs have already had knock-on effects in the capital city.

Wild story: a quality manager who warned about the shoddy construction of Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes was particularly concerned about the ones sent to Air India in 2014. That's when the Air India jet that crashed today was sent.

One of the Dreamliners That Gave a Boeing Manager Nightmares Just Crashed
Whistleblowers always warned that passengers would pay a price for Boeing’s tyrannical corner-cutting, especially with the planes shipped overseas.

The executive is again acting as if there are not three equal branches of government, and is therefore breaking his constitutional oath. Bring home Abrego Garcia @alsobrooks.senate.gov
Courts generally proceed on the assumption that government officials have acted properly. But the Justices shouldn’t be played for fools, Ruth Marcus writes: the Trump Administration has repeatedly squandered its entitlement to the presumption.
Will the Supreme Court Stop Donald Trump?
By defying the Justices’ ruling on a man mistakenly sent to El Salvador, the Administration has shown that it is not owed the deference typically shown to the executive branch.
