One for everyone to read carefully and internalise….

Next time you find yourself in a discussion about the differences between liberals, leftists, democratic socialists, moderates, progressives, and never trumpers, remember: billionaires don't give a fuck. We're all the same to them: human capitol stock. And they love it when we fight each other.

Keir Starmer is in India meeting their business leader and politicians as part of negotiating closer trade ties.

Sounds like you don’t understand what “diplomacy” is….

You tend to learn more looking at the systems that have had problems, than the one that haven’t.
juanpablodewes.bsky.social
When introducing a new system it’s very sensible to look at other systems and learn what went well and what didn’t.

It would be stupid not to learn from, and not repeat, the mistakes of Aadhaar.

Why don’t you know what Labour are doing/already achieved?

🌹 Labour’s getting it done.

17 Manifesto pledges delivered,
18 on track,
19 in progress.

That’s real change in just 15 months.

You see, I find it intensely irritating when people say that Labour has no plan, or that they are breaking their manifesto promises. In terms of actual delivery, the Government is doing exactly what was laid out in the manifesto.
juanpablodewes.bsky.social
Yep, and they’re actually delivering fairly rapidly.

A significant number of bills have been laid before Parliament.

Some will take time to fully come into force (like recruiting new teachers), but the progress is clear

Multiple things can be important at the same time.

Governments do not do only one thing at a time.

For the UK “innovating” would not mean “starting from scratch”

Which, if true, is more an argument for on-shoring of capability, than an argument for unilateral disarmament

Labour, again, well on the way to delivering their manifesto promises.

The Labour manifesto promised 6500 more teachers across schools in England.

The latest data shows the progress towards that has so far been 2300 additional teachers.

To help further, a new package of funding is announced today with a focus on areas traditionally ignored such as FE and...

Pupils to benefit from more specialist teachers in classrooms
Aspiring teachers can get up to £31,000 tax free through bursaries and scholarships, as the government boosts efforts to attract more great teachers.
