I'm feeling a lot of strong feelings about the Labor crackdown on protestors in Sydney.
I wrote a short piece to try and explore those feelings, and the utter betrayal I think many Aussies are feeling at the hands of the Albanese and Minns governments.

#BREAKING 🚨 Former Greens candidate Hannah Thomas says NSW premier Chris Minns "is responsible for every single injury" at the Sydney march against Isaac Herzog

Protesters were pepper-sprayed and punches thrown, with Thomas saying it "felt like war being waged on us by police"

These cops need to be ‘moved along’ from their fucking jobs.
Extraordinary footage. Police pulling off people engaged in peaceful prayer.

“I can generate a book in a day and it takes you six months to write one, so I win the race” is one the most pathetic takes I’ve seen today.

If you “generated” a book, you’re not competing in the same race, league, or sport as writers. Playing with Legos doesn’t make you better than an architect.

No one on the street cares about the Coalition breakup. They do care that their lives are about to get worse because the RBA will increase interest rates.
This is something Labor could stop if they could be bothered to use the most powerful anti-inflation lever - tax. Just fuckin’ tax the companies.

Abolish ICE, prosecute and imprison its leaders, impeach and remove the President from office. This is the only sane reaction to a group of armed men kidnapping and gunning down our neighbors in the street.
As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today.

ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.

What the first two weeks of Zohran's term show is that your politicians - wherever you live - could make your lives substantially better tomorrow and choose not to.
Every day that passes, they make that choice.

A whole bunch of artists and cultural workers have lost work because of the implosion of Adelaide Writers week — writers, producers, stage crew, front of house. None of this was their fault. Something for the Labor premier to think about

I spoke to a dozen professional concept artists working in games about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs easier, even if it's just used in "very early ideation stages."

Zero said "yes." Most said it made their job harder.

I learnt a lot about concept artists. You should too!

Ahmed al Ahmed is a beacon of Sydney, the Lebanese Aussie community in the Shire and dare I say, the ANZAC spirit (the headlock was 100% Strayan).
A hero who ran into an impossible situation. His name should be shouted from the rooftops.
Look for the helpers and the deadset legends.
If you're scared this tragedy will by weaponised by those pushing hatred, division & control, same. It's a pattern that can change nations. We've already seen Netanyahu claim the Muslim who charged the shooters was Jewish. Empathy, patience and truth. Everything else is unhelpful
