In itself it's not the biggest thing but Congress specifically passed a law requiring ICE to allow access to members of Congress because of Trump's antics in the first term. This isn't even norms. It's violating black letter statute law.
And here in NYC today another shocking escalation by Trump.

The law *explicitly allows* unannounced visits by congressmembers to federal facilities.

This is yet another breach of democratic norms by an increasingly rogue administration. Don't normalize this.

“Formatting issues” are the new “alternative facts”
Reporter: An investigation found the MAHA commission report cites studies that appear not to exist.

Leavitt: I understand there were some formatting issues…It does not negate the substance of the report

Reporter: Is AI used to put together these reports?

Leavitt: I can’t speak to that

#UpperEastSide #CouncilDistrict4 Are you bombarded by ads from Rachel Storch-Akrongold, the TISCH-backed Orthodox City Council candidate married to a REPUBLICAN LANDLORD, using a federal super-PAC to flood our UES election? I don’t know who I’ll vote for, but I know who isn’t getting my vote.

I have gotten confirmation from sources inside the Coast Guard that this is in fact true and happened in Key West.

ICE went into military housing and took the spouse of a USCG member who is currently out to sea.
🚨🚨🚨BREAKING NEWS: Was just passed this from a fellow service academy grad. A Coast Guard Academy graduate posted this. They are reporting that ICE entered base housing and took a USCG spouse. I can’t confirm this but I’m calling for answers from the Coast Guard and Congress. This is unacceptable.

I wanted to try and figure out how Neil Gorsuch concluded that 'Pride Puppy', an ABCs book about a lost dog at a pride parade that he insists he read, exposes kids to "bondage" and "sex workers." The answers are somehow even dumber than you can imagine. A brief thread:
I Think Neil Gorsuch Is Lying About a “Religious Freedom” Case Again
Why did Gorsuch claim that ‘Pride Puppy’, an alphabet book about a lost dog, introduces kids to bondage and sex workers? Let’s find out!

I'm hearing that ICE recently entered a Morristown high school recently and removed two students--the same town terrorized when a meat processing facility was raided under trump's first term.

There's no news coverage I can find. Any of my East TN folks able to confirm?

Very happy that @aaup.bsky.social and its chapters are bringing these lawsuits. Absolutely shameful that universities and their highly paid leaders are not stepping up to do so themselves.
In this post, I commend universities that filed amicus brief in AAUP case challenging speech-based deportations of foreign students, but also explain why this isn't adequate substitute for universities bringing a case of their own: reason.com/volokh/2025/...

This is a big deal. Spread the word. But it’s tiny compared to the totality of what’s happening at NIH. Cure Research for all cancers, Alzheimer’s, everything is being gutted. Intentionally. It’s all getting burned to the ground but the news isn’t getting out. The new cures won’t be there for you.
