It's really good to see this being recognized and talked about - there's historically been a huge lack of empathy for people who don't evacuate because people assume they're all being stubborn, even though anyone who lives in the US knows how few resources so many people here have.

Some don't evacuate despite repeated hurricane warnings — because they can't

People with disabilities, people who can't afford it and people who don't want to abandon their pets are among the many who can't easily get up and leave before a hurricane.

so one of my big stress things is stress-induced insomnia but the thing is, BRAIN, that if I can't sleep, I won't be functional enough to deal with the things that are stressing me out and so what is the evolutionary purpose BRAIN what is IT
