Bring decency and compassion back to America. Feminist.
Comparing AI discourse to weather is a great analogy. Love it.

Climate change advocates use weather effectively to make it into a policy issue. Sometimes they win and sometimes lose.

Similarly it will be lot more productive, IF... people who whine about AI use make this into a policy issue.
I aspire to a state of enlightenment where I can laugh at the LLM fail of the day, tsk-tsk the Altman video being tsked, and then go right back to coding w/ Claude. It's not like we're debating a policy to reduce AI use. It's more like deploring the weather, which I can do even as a user of weather.
It is simultaneously true that ML tools are incredibly useful and that many of their most intense adherents are selling snake oil

Hmm.. Don't try to treat a "AI catch all" disease by giving another catch all term.

Why not be precise?
Turing test is the gold standard. All serious journalists must understand it and apply it. It is not as complex to understand as Machine learning or LLM or any other buzz words.

#AI
Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

That's right.

$2T market cap as trigger is also flimsy. Tesla doesn't need to do anything. If his pedo-friend forces Fed to talk about possible QE or some shit like that, just on speculation, it will hit that milestone. It just has to cross. He wins.
This is true (and the WSJ breakdown is great) but I can’t stress enough how low a bar some of the milestones are compared to what Musk touted over the years.

He used to say Tesla would make 20M cars *per year by 2030*. Now he only needs to sell 20M by 2035 — and Tesla has already sold 8M!
easy to miss in the punditry about Musk's pay package:

he only becomes a trillionaire if he meets *a bunch* of milestones

payouts begin at $2 trillion market cap + other conditions

here's a handy graphic

We have seen this movie before.

In the end, 6 turncoat puppets have sided with Corrupt king.
Occasionally they go against to make it look like they are independent.

Don't get too excited by oral arguments.
Gorsuch finally speaks, and oh yeah, he's against Trump. Alito also sounded skeptical, which is surprising to me. Regardless, there will plainly be a lopsided majority to strike down the tariffs.

The government better start working on its Plan B...

The Words 👉

"..a nation betrayed by Donald Trump.."

He increased taxes on lower/middle class via tariffs (a backdoor method) and cut taxes for rich
He took a Boeing plane as 'gift' from Qatar
He is trying to rig future elections
He funds his army (ICE), while starving poor in this country
Mamdani: "We can respond to oligarchy and authoritarianism with the strength it fears, not the appeasement it craves. After all, if anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him."

serious note: they're gonna try 5x harder to sabotage the midterms after tonight and we're gonna have to organize on a literally historic scale to stop them
really obvious now why trump and the republican party have been working so hard to prevent fair elections lol they know

--> Corrupt President who's working to sabotage elections
--> Oligarchs
--> 95+% Media outlets

All just for a Mayor of a City.
