Ils aiment même jouer avec le discours car, en invoquant des raisons ridicules, ils discréditent le sérieux de leurs interlocuteurs. Ils se plaisent à agir de mauvaise foi, puisqu'ils ne cherchent pas à convaincre par des arguments solides mais à intimider et à déconcerter. Si vous les serrez de trop près, ils se tairont brusquement, indiquant haut et fort par une phrase que le temps de la dispute est passé.

The only "objective" metric of success Trump cares about is the stock market. The record-highs there and in the cryptocurrency are the only proof he and his donors need that they made a good bet on dictatorship.

It gives him confidence to accelerate his overreach.

The polls reflect the economy far better than the stock markets. The disconnect is fueling Trump's drive for dictatorship.
