OK I'll admit it, I'm on the board

OK. It's going to be coming out soon because of the relentless investigations of Pam Bondi and Kash Patel, so I might as well admit it before the news breaks:

I am the General Counsel of Antifa.

Jed Rubenfeld is back in the news
livingonferenginar.bsky.social
the dork in question is Jed Rubenfeld, husband of Amy Chua of Tiger Mom fame, who also mentored Vance. The fix was in, and it was most likely a very gentle 'debate'

At Yale Political Union, 72% of students voted against Curtis Yarvin’s resolution to “end the democratic experiment.”

He debated a Yale Law professor on the question.

New rule: Anyone who “debates” Yarvin is an even bigger and more desperate dork.

I think @enbuenora.bsky.social & @iriedc.bsky.social may have it right, that he knows he’s a hack but he is indignant about us plebs challenging our betters.

whenever I see Jed or Amy in the news, I'm always like "jesus what now?"

To what effect, though?

Assuming a D controlled congress in the midterms, Congress passes such a law, R controlled SCOTUS rules it's unconstitutional restraint on the free speech of jackboots and also something something unitary executive, and we're back where we started.

At this point the 14th Amendment is just paper. They don't care. They're busy acting, not legislating. The government is refusing to be bound by existing rules, so changing the rules isn't a prescription.

you idiot, they're already doing things that are prohibited by law. Think better.
asharangappa.bsky.social
One of the (many) legal gaps that needs to be filled after this nightmare is over is to prohibit federal law enforcement agencies from using federal funds to create propaganda videos with anyone in custody. This is all about spectacle and content creation, remove the incentive and the means

Weird how that didn’t make the cut.

I want to support journos who have real integrity. They're crucial for the democracy we wish we had.But if I see anything published by oligarch owned media I dismiss it out of hand. WP,CBS,NYT,CNN,FOX etc. All garbage. I try to support journalists but the best only receive a pittance of their value

There are only two types of products and services now: outright scam and pseudo scam (where you're like ehh technically I got something in exchange for my money but cmon)

Abbott? I really wonder about the bitter unhappy universe all these people inhabit. I mean, for me to act the way they act, I would have to feel deeply wronged by the whole world. And yet they're the most privileged in history.

Bari Weiss introduced herself to CBS News staff today on the network's 9AM call, saying she wants to "win," which requires restoring trust to CBS. She also said she was excited for staff to get to know the Free Press, and ended her remarks by saying: "Let's do the fucking news."

“You’re not making art, you’re making disgusting, over-processed hotdogs out of the lives of human beings, out of the history of art and music, and then shoving them down someone else’s throat hoping they’ll give you a little thumbs up and like it. Gross.”

we've all been saying this for literally decades. Nothing will change as long as people continue to patronize so-called "elite" media. The NYT has been contemptible for 50 years, garbage writing by garbage people, intended for garbage people. Anyone who owns an NPR totebag is part of the problem.

Hopefully the whole Bari Weiss thing and Ezra Klein thing starts waking people up to the fact that corporate media is mostly populated with mediocre people who have made millions and gained unbelievable influence because they threaten nothing and tell wealthy people exactly what they want to hear.

We often assume the deal between the Russian state and its contract soldiers is not ideological. But what could be more ideological than believing the state owes you nothing, you owe the state nothing, and everything - including your life - can be reduced to a business transaction?
