there are currently videos going around showing Jordan Peterson debating a bunch of teenaged atheists, and although I refuse to watch it because I can't stand him, I assume the teens eventually banded together and consumed him in some sort of youthful ritualistic frenzy

Every year on Memorial Day, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring.
They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died.
France also gave us this land as American soil.

I disconnected from the internet aside from Nebula and YouTube Music. I gotta say it was pretty nice, I definitely got a lot more work done and discovered I really enjoy 60s doo-wop. But I miss memes and pictures of cute animals.

I like Bluesky, but I've weaned myself off of social media so thoroughly over the last decade that I keep forgetting I signed up and intended to socialize. I hear somebody say "I'm on Bluesky now" and I'm like "Ah damn that's right, I was supposed to... damn."
