Here’s an article from this year with the Australian gun lobby boasting that, with surging gun numbers, it was winning the fight against firearms control advocates. Blame guns. Blame anti-Semitism. Blame terrorists. Do not blame everyday Australians who marched for peace.
Australia’s gun lobby says it’s ‘winning’ the fight against firearm control as numbers surge
There are now more than 4m guns in the community – almost double the number recorded in the years after the Port Arthur massacre that prompted a national crackdown

We are reminded once again that "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that ... The chain reaction of evil—hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars—must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation." MLK

To be confronted with this horrific act of antisemitic violence during the Jewish festival of light and hope is shattering. In moments like this, we hold each other close.

We should all be able to gather with our communities, practice our culture, and worship in safety. 3/4

A horror night for Australia. But the acts of Australians from all walks of life to protect and help shows this nation is much stronger than those who seek to divide us.

All love to those and their friends and family in shock and mourning today.

After years of campaigning, we finally have a new national environment law. Some important wins came through, but the law still fails the climate test.

Until emissions are fully accounted for and climate impacts properly weighed, our forests, our future, and our climate remain at risk.

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.
