We had a great time at #Jungfraujoch during our yearly team outing! Got a fascinating tour of the meteorological & research station (est. 1931), and really enjoyed the trip with the iconic railway (construction finished already in 1912!). We'll have to come back for a better view, though 😉🏔️❄️🧪🚞

Debating the aesthetics of #wind & #solar is a luxury. The real crisis is climate change—threatening billions with deadly heat & catastrophic ecosystem breakdowns ♨️🥵🔥 Green #energy is a necessity🍃 Challenges exist (noise, land use) but are manageable - biggest risk is inaction #dkpol #climatechange

Took a small break from talks & discussions at #IMC25 this morning to explore the #alpine surroundings above #Innsbruck. Great views, and happy to see quite some flowers still (or again?) around late in the season 🌸🪻🌿🏔😊

Incredible ice loss measured again at #Konkordiaplatz on the #Aletsch #Glacier, home to the thickest ice in the #Alps (still about 800 m!). Yesterday’s survey revealed another –4.6 m of ice gone in just one year. :(

While the line between NES and NoNES might not be as sharp, I absolutely agree that linguistic injustice exists, especially for colleagues from non-Western societies. Imo a good opportunity for (commercial) publishers to give some of their revenue back to the scientific community.

All the costs of having a common language in science are borne by non-native English-speaking scientists, implying unfair cooperation in obtaining a common good (i.e. a common language)"
