"You have it in your power to make a difference. Don't give up. There is a future for you. Do your best while you’re still on this beautiful Planet Earth that I look down upon from where I am now."

Those were Dr. Jane's last words, as released by Netflix.

The US wine industry today employs more people than coal did at its peak a century ago

Energy Secretary Chris Wright on Fox: "We're announcing today expanded programs to help the American coal industry. We're helping it because for years it has been under assault. It was out of fashion with the chardonnay set in San Francisco, Boulder, and NYC ... coal just makes the world go round."

“It is increasingly indefensible for news coverage of climate change not to make it clear that this crisis is driven by very specific human activities – primarily burning fossil fuels. And in second place is food, agriculture, forestry.”

The #IPCC is now hireing ‘chapter scientists’ to support the author teams for the upcoming IPCC Report.

If you are an early career scientist with strong synthesis and organisational skills, and from a developing country or a country in transition, do check this out!

I am really thrilled and honoured to be involved - as a CLA for Chapter 14 in WGII, I’ll co-coordinate the chapter on biodiversity, ecosystems, and ecosystem services. Looking forward to meeting the team and kicking this off in the first author meeting in Paris in December! #IPCC

Today was a hard day for Ph.D. students who found out that they can no longer apply for NSF's prestigious Graduate Research Fellowship Program. "Devastating“ was how one student described it to me. #GradSchool #NSFGRFP

This is likely the largest UN walkout of an Israeli leader in history.

It should serve as a wake-up call for Israelis that Netanyahu is burning Israel's global support to shield himself from his own failures. Israel's fate should not be tied to him nor his extremist allies.

Time to change course.

Høyre og Venstre legger ned siste rest av bilfritt sentrum-satsingen i sitt nye budsjett. Ganske trist.

The Production Gap Report 2025
Governments, in aggregate, still plan to produce far more fossil fuels than would be consistent with limiting global warming to between 1.5ºC and 2ºC.

Our findings indicate that tundra borealization might not involve rapid displacement of tundra by boreal species, but rather an overall increase in the abundance of boreal species with already established presence in the Arctic. (4/6)
