In the 4th grade, 9 or 10 years old I think - this would have been 1986/87 - we had an assignment to come up with a list of homonyms (or homophones if you prefer) and one of the word sets I picked was bite and byte - the teacher did not believe that byte was a word.

It's cool that "Dems lead by 20 points" etc etc but that's also what everybody said in 2024 and then white liberals didn't show up to vote for Harris. We need to keep reminding people that the polls don't elect anyone.
