between moving, online harassment, & starting my teaching year, i'm still struggling to get settled & need support making through this month.

We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.

In the last two years, despite consistently posting, subscribers have dropped & payouts have over halved, making my main income supplement less effective. Still, a deep part of my practice out of need & now habit is creating 4-6 new pieces of art a month, & I want to share them with you.

At my most successful, ironically at the beginning of COVID, I was able to leverage my public profile for mutual aid for my artist community here in Portland & beyond. A key part of this financial ecosystem was my Patreon, offering enough to cover rent & other bills for years.
