CT has always been ideological, but as someone who works in a lot of evangelical history, I have a vested interest in its health. There are things only CT covers that must be recorded. Having a clown like this at the helm hurts everyone.

If Weber is right the Protestant relationship to capitalism is one of comprehensive rationalization, then I think the charismatic innovation to the Protestant ethic is a greater emphasis on risk and a denial of the possibility for comprehensive rationalization.
