This was one of my favourite Insight Series sessions this year.

Paul shared some really candid insights into some of the challenges facing interdisciplinary teams, and offered some tangible advice on how to overcome these.

Well worth a read/watch 👇
When you've got your interdisciplinary research project funded, how do you go about keeping everyone in the team on board?

Read some excellent advice from Prof Paul Vickers in this blog post from earlier this year 👇

On ITV LastOrders tonight I will be raising this very issue for Leeds, another site of deployment of this demonstrably discriminatory technology

@leedsgreenparty.bsky.social
Outrageous that Live Facial Recognition is being used on local people in Crawley today.

I have warned ministers that police are acting unlawfully by deploying this intrusive technology with no approval from Parliament.

Can anyone help with some popular #science #BookRecommendations?
I had a very good run of books a while back, with The Good Virus, Entangled Life, Blue Machine, and Seven Brief Lessons on Physics, but all of my recent recommendations are a bit too 'self-help' for my liking.

I have absolutely zero doubt that Reform UK's plan for small business will basically consist of "supply-side reforms" that end up deregulating employees into having lower pay and fewer rights. That's a guarantee.

In 2024, the Supreme Court ruled that climate impacts must be considered in planning decisions.

Yet councils are allowing mega farms to conceal their emissions.

Thirty-five developments have routinely ignored or downplayed the industry’s carbon footprint.

'"Other shareholder meetings are snoozefests but ours are bangers. Look at this. This is sick," he added.'

Sick is the right word, although perhaps not in the way he meant it. £1tn for one man, while more than half the planet are struggling to live in basic human dignity.

Tesla have approved a $1 trillion pay package for Elon Musk. That's 20 billion times more than a nurse in the UK earns.

Don't let anyone tell you immigrants or disabled people are the problem. It's the richest 1% hoarding all the wealth.

Time to tax the super-rich properly.
