I'm far less confident than @dhnexon.bsky.social on the possibility of constitutional amendments. But there's lots we can do to become an actual democracy/republic simply through normal legislation. Yes, we should abolish the Senate, get rid of presidentialism, & more, but that's not gonna happen.

The number of seats in Canada’s House of Commons is very close to the cube root of the country’s population, a tendency that is common in other democracies.
If the U.S. did that, the House would have nearly 700 members today instead of just 435, which is the same number it had in 1913

It occurs to me that if the MAGAs want an imperial presidency we should be able to tap into the historical consequences when we overturn this monarchy.
