This is gibberish.
Karoline Leavitt claims that a judge's verbal order doesn't matter as much as a written order.

"Well, there's actually questions about whether a verbal order carries the same weight as a legal order -- as a written order. Our lawyers are determined to ask and answer those questions in court."

It’s been six days since Chief Justice Roberts’s “administrative” stay in the foreign aid cases. That almost certainly means (1) someone’s dissenting; (2) the Court is trying to reach a compromise; or (3) both. Hard to be sure which it is, but the continuing pause is itself producing plenty of harm.

Lawyers, this is what it looks like to honor your oath as a lawyer and as a prosecutor. I want to lift up Denise Cheung, one of a growing group of senior DOJ lawyers who have put the rule of law ahead of politics & short-term career advancement. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/18/u...

At this rate, it's just going to be Ed Martin left to run the office.
The top criminal prosecutor in the U.S. attorney's office in Washington quit today, citing pressure by the Trump administration to open what she viewed as an improper criminal probe of a federal contract.

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general.

If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

New—The Food & Drug Administration (FDA), an agency that falls under RFK Jr.’s purview, just mass fired probationary employees via an email reviewed by me.

They’re citing performance issues as the reason, even for employees who had great performance reviews. Don’t know how many people affected yet.

It should be a source of profound embarrassment that a bunch of FedSoc lifers are taking a more vocal and principled stand against the corrupt Eric Adams deal than most elected Dems.

That lawyerly compulsion to open an attachment, close it, and then open it again to make sure it didn't change before you send it out.

Then panic anyway assuming it changed.

The lead prosecutor on the Adams investigation - Hagan Scotten - resigns from SDNY.

“I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion [to dismiss Adams charges]. But it was never going to me.”

NEW — In an alarming email last night reviewed by me, Coast Guard members learned that 1,135 members' direct deposit account routing information was compromised due to a data breach from unauthorized access.

It was only discovered because an officer “reported anomalous activity” on their account.

3 of the attys who resigned/were put on leave for refusing to dismiss the case against Eric Adams have conservative bona fides that, for anyone in the know, show this is not political spite.

Danielle Sassoon - Scalia Clerk
Kevin Driscoll - O'Scannlain Clerk
Hagan Scotten - Kavanaugh/Roberts Clerk
Acting AG Emil Bove tried to reassign Mayor Adams’ case to the public integrity unit at Main Justice in DC. Upon learning of this, senior DOJ officials resigned. The heroes are here.

Every single article about Trump being “elected” Chair of the Kennedy Center must mention in the headline that Trump *fired all the Board members that wouldn’t vote for him.*

“Made Chair” is such weak, passive language that fails to call out what’s really going on.

Our media must do better.
