Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is a good day to thank undocumented immigrants.
🦃 3/4 of them are essential workers vital to keeping our country running.

They make up:
📌 23% of construction workers
📌 40%–55% of agriculture workers
📌 25% of food preparation & serving workers
📌 8% of healthcare workers

Lee: When Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was up for confirmation or when VP Harris was added to the ticket, they called them DEI hires. They want you to believe that Harvard graduate with over 20 years of experience is not qualified but Fox personality is qualified to run the DOD

A lot of folks are giving up in advance. Capitulating before a single skirmish.

Well, not this old warrior. I’ve seen much worse from the U.S. government in my day. I’m concerned for our country, but not a bit scared of these miscreants. I’m ready to do my part.

Who’s with me?

The ACA also established out of pocket maximums and parity (requires ins to cover mental health/substance use treatment). Did we forget what it was like before?
Feel free to share this image and text on Google reviews for medical establishments that take private insurance and Affordable Care Act plans.

Diagnosis is not a burden or a label. It’s a bridge to self-understanding, actually helpful support, and self-advocacy. Withholding/avoiding diagnosis does not protect kids (or adults).
The results are staggering. A correct diagnosis for children with ADHD creates substantial gains in their future educational attainment and financial outcomes.

Ex. a boy who likely has ADHD is 72.2% more likely to obtain a college degree if they likely receive a diagnosis, than if they do not.

the lesson of the election isn’t “we should give up on trans rights,” it’s that the GOP took an issue that negatively impacted almost no one and made it a headliner. why would it help to surrender on an issue if they can create a grievance from thin air?

The only people who think that vaccines cause autism are the parents of autistic children who don’t want to accept the fact that their kids are autistic because they had impure thoughts about other men at the gym.

So let’s stop giving angry rapist misogynistic bigoted men power, yeah? This shouldn’t be difficult. Can’t wait till this is not normal.
A Trump supporting, anti-trans, anti-gay Republican was elected commissioner of the county where I grew up. He won despite being in jail on election night for a sexual assault in Vegas.

It’s now come out that the woman he assaulted was his daughter.

8 yo mumbles something, “…that would freak you out.” Me: “meh, not much freaks me out.” 8 yo: “I said ‘if I dumped a bunch of hamsters in your room.’” Me: “oh yeah no we’d be finished.” This kid sees me. 💕

I’m calling it now—companies will increase prices beyond what’s necessary to cover their tariff-driven increased costs because the tariff hubbub gives such convenient cover, not to mention the upcoming labor shortage from mass immigrant detention. We’re about to see record corporate profit.
People who voted for Trump because they want lower prices are in for sticker shock.

Autism isn’t a disease or an epidemic. It’s not something to fear or to prevent.

If “combating autism” seems like a worthy political goal to you, you’re either a eugenicist, or you’ve been deceived by eugenicists. #Autistic

Autistic therapists. 🤗
#Autistic people are known for our ability to take in tons of info, organize & synthesize it, & see how it fits together. We can make connections that other people don’t see. (Obviously not every autistic person considers this a strength of theirs, but it’s a common trait of autistic thinking.)

The Founders put ‘advice and consent’ in the Constitution for a reason. They wanted Senators to have oversight over Cabinet picks of a President to ensure that they were properly vetted. Winning an election 49.89%-48.24 doesn’t dispense with that constitutional responsibility.

SECRETARY OF DEFENSE: Allegedly raped a woman at a conference in 2017

SECRETARY OF HHS: Allegedly sexually assaulted his kids’ baby sitter

I promised myself not to freak out about the details of what Trump says and only really look out for what he actually does. it's been great so far
My lesson from the first time around is that we absolutely cannot take things that the Trumpworld people say as gospel, given their total lack of specifics and total willigness to make grandiose pronouncements that are aimed at triggering the libs and making headlines.

I am finding it quite unbearable to watch Sarah McBride bear the grotesque attack of her colleagues with so much grace. I know it is what we have been taught to expect of trailblazers, but I am increasingly struggling to accept this.

reminder: this is the point of the barrage of batshit appointments

if you are a tiny bit freaked out by each of them it will add up to “too freaked out to do anything about anything”

pick ONE thing at a time to be upset about, decide what action to take on it, then follow through, repeat
the 278 unbelievable things happening per day are a planned emotional DDOS attack; the shitbirds are counting on you perpetually being too glued to the latest thing to do anything about the previous thing

suggestion: pick one action to take per week, in advance, and do it no matter what news breaks

the difference between Harris and Trump’s popular vote totals is less than 2%, largely concentrated in TX and FL.

you are not wildly outnumbered, you are not powerless, you are not in a different country than you were in last month, you are being DDOSed by organized bad actors.
