I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.

wrote 20 pages on Faulkner's The Bear four hours before final papers were due on trucker pills and coffee and cigarettes and got an A, fuck you.
You people couldn't hang with real slackers.

It depends on the publisher and their stock and fulfillment timelines. It may also depend on a critical mass of orders. I think for Amazon at least they won’t fulfill a backorder just for one order/customer but might wait to see if several people want it before they order it to the warehouse.

I've been buying old True Confessions magazines from the '50s off ebay and they really scratch the itch of watching outrage and heartbreak videos on Tiktok. Who wants to bring this back as a blog a la "It Happened to Me"/Seventeen mag, and I feel in love with my therapist Tiktok events?
