All of these bootlegged copies of the 60 Minutes segment flooding my feed (saying, ‘Watch it quick! Before it disappears!’) makes me feel like I’m in the Soviet Union and just got some black market foreign newspaper I need to hide under a floorboard in my house.

This is where America is now

My iPhone was forced to have an update to this liquid nonsense. I hate it. Thanks big tech! Can we just have things that work?

Pantone picking white for 2026’s color of the year seems like the final defeat for humanity. Perfect and sad.

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

the Harvard Crimson called Epstein a “child sex offender” while the Chronicle of Higher Ed called him a “disgraced financier” and that pretty much sums up where we are with higher ed journalism

Same with vaccines! And financial regulation!
The political problem here, similar to fascism, is people have forgotten how *bad* it was.

When Nixon is the one signing the clean water act, you know things were BAD bad.

But now we’ve kidded ourselves into believing the free market cleaned things up because it was good for business.
Literally just lectured about this!

In the late 1960s, air quality was so bad in several cities they had to turn on the street lights during the day so drivers could see. And yeah, the Cuyahoga River was so polluted it literally caught on fire.

Elisa New was deeply compassionate to me during college, and it breaks my heart to know she actively courted Jeffrey Epstein. I’d hoped she’d just stayed with Summers for *reasons.* But just no. No interview, no money, nothing is worth this.
did not have Harvard English professor Elisa New emailing Jeffrey Epstein about Lolita on my 2025 bingo card

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.
