Don't read this if you're not ready to cry.

For years, Steward Health Care, a private equity-fueled for-profit chain with hospitals around the country, stiffed bills and slashed patient care while its top brass became multimillionaires. They shattered dozens of lives: bit.ly/455xC7O
Wall Street gutted Steward Health Care. Patients paid the price.
One of America's biggest for-profit hospital operators is bankrupt, broken, and responsible for countless mistreated patients—thanks to its private equity overlords.

Congressional Republicans hope you aren’t focusing on their unpopular plans to slash taxes for billionaires and billionaire corporations while gutting health care for families.

So I don’t think they’d want you to share this story:
Republicans pass Trump-backed tax plan that could drastically cut Medicaid
Republicans will now have to detail what specific programs they will cut, including potential changes to Medicaid.

Reminder: no matter how many times Republicans say otherwise, there is *no way* they can pay for their proposed tax cuts without gutting Medicaid and other programs that millions of people rely on.

Don't believe their lies for a second.

Folks should understand Trump’s character by now. He loves supplication and side deals.
Murphy: "It's not designed as economic policy. It's designed as political policy. Because Trump gets really excited when people have to come to him, petition the king for relief. That's what he's doing with law firms, doing with universities. That may be what he's doing with businesses."

This, right here, is why tariffs cause depressions.
My husband and I run a game store and after all the tariff announcements, he decided to write out kind of a "behind the scenes" of how we spend and spill it out for people who don't understand. He's had so many reactions and shares I wanted to bring it here, too.

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve has been handed over to a private company. In an oligarchy, control of national assets is privatized. The US DoE web site says this contract was awarded after a "rigorous competitive selection process". How stupid do they think we are?

Please share!!! This is getting ridiculous—they just can’t accept a loss. Please help spread the word to North Carolina. The North Carolina Court of Appeals ruled in a 2-1 decision that over 60,000 votes cast in last year’s closely contested state Supreme Court race must be verified and recounted.

The whole point is to ruin farms…a fire sale on farmland that can be sold to corporate farms who can pollute the water and air with impunity.

There will be no one left in these communities to demand these corporations be regulated or pay taxes.
Any farmers out there that can speak to whether they can get info for planting season ? Or loans to help them get through this ?

Are federal offices open to even process loan requests ?

It's not a bad idea to go to the local Walmart or big box retailer and buy lots of consumables now. From toothpaste to soap, anything you can find storage space for, buy before they have to replenish inventory.

Even if it's made in the USA , they will jack up the price and blame it on tariffs.

This is a bigger issue than people realize. Not just jobs lost. But their families losing benefits. Landlords losing tenants. Cities and towns losing revenue. This is how recessions start

Ready Fire Aim is no way to govern.
More accurate, fewer words;

"There are plenty of contractors going under".

A friend furloughed 75% of staff (furlough w/paying for health insurance for three months), 50% exec pay cut, 25% rest of staff to keep as many people w/salary.

PS: Wasn't 18F a government office, not a contractor.

The DEI caused the plane crash narrative is a distraction. The tariffs are a distraction. Whatever insane nonsense Trump spews that the media will chase like cats chasing a laser light is a distraction. The only story that counts right now is the wholesale hijacking of control of the US government.
