🎓RNAmed met at LMU on May 19 for a Topic Day on the immune recognition of RNA. Special thanks to Prof. Veit Hornung, Prof. Kathrin Leppek, and Prof. Min Ae Lee-Krisch for sharing their insights & joining the panel discussion. 📅On May 20, PhD students shared their methods in our first Methods Seminar

I often think it would be great to have chloroplasts, do photosynthesis, and live off the sun.

This massive poster of the ad campaign for the new recruits at the @unibonn.bsky.social is the nerdiest version and the closest I’ll ever get to a superhero movie poster. #Bauzaun

“Government plays an incredibly important role in supporting innovative work and discovery research,” Nobel laureate Jennifer Doudna tells Jeffrey Goldberg at #TAF25. This is work that “just doesn’t get done in companies.”

Many transcriptome regions are translated but not known to encode proteins. They remain poorly annotated and thus under studied, partly due to the lack of terminology for these features.

In @natmethods.nature.com we propose using "Translon" for any region decoded by the ribosome
Snapshot of the Correspondence titled 'Translon: a single term for translated regions'

We are happy to finally present our brand new lab website of the Leppek Lab! About time after 3.5 years of the lab. Perfectly in time for the #EMBLProtein meeting in Heidelberg where our 4 PhDs have posters and I have a talk! We would be happy about any feedback! 🎉 leppeklab.org

Metabolic Crossroads: AMDHD2 Couples the Hexosamine Biosynthetic Pathway to Acetyl-CoA Homeostasis in Pluripotent Stem Cells
Pluripotent stem cells (SCs) rely on metabolic rewiring to regulate self-renewal and differentiation. The hexosamine biosynthetic pathway (HBP) integrates multiple metabolic inputs to produce uridine ...
