Like, Dems only have power in what few (and at the moment insignificant) powers the minority in congress has and in what state governments they control.

Barring that and or branching off into things most people would take issue with, Dems can't do much!

It's going to be either absolutely terrifying and or depressing to see how this part of our current crisis plays out. The bit about how top military brass haven't responded to Trump turning speeches in front of younger officers into political rallies also unnerves me.

Combine that for lots of folks they aren't paying attention, and that still for many folks right now what they're paying attention to more is the economy and their wallets, and ya get the situation we're in now.

This of course ignores that part of the problem right now is that alot of Democrats are mad at the Party for not taking tougher stances against Trump, so part of it is that the base is protesting the party while they remain mad at Trump.

I mean that is certainly your own perogative, and really its not likely to effect things either way, but its not really a mindset helpful to convincing some people.

"Trump is bad/fascist!" isn't enough for some folks. They want a message that is more than that.

As much as it might surprise some people, there are a surprising number of folks for whom, "The President is being a giant and complete dickbag" is not enough to make them be up for voting for the opposite party and they do, in fact, want something more.

Admittedly we don't have to have a blue wave to retake the house, but retaking the Senate without one will be rather impossible.

That said, could always change.

That's a dickish and assholish way to view it. And does nothing to help convince people.

Besides, right now the enviornment is highly polarized, and Democrats have high unfavorables, in part because a fair portion of Democrats have issues with the party not standing up more to Trump.

Keep in mind Democrats unfavorables right now are higher than that of the GOP, and that we are in a VERY polarized environment now.
