The government’s promise to reshore the production of simple items like mine looks, from where I sit, like something of a fever dream.

And when we venture out of our den of despair, there are things like those happening!

I've noticed my Bluesky feed has become almost exclusively focused on politics. While that's important, we all need a little more joy to balance the angst. This makes me happy. Enjoy the color!

2/2 It's not that they are rich. Most of us would like more money. It's the corrupt and selfish way they try to hang on to and grow their wealth with no regard for the impact in the rest of us.

Who remembers what we learned in high school social studies well enough to define oligarchy? Here is a reminder.. "oligarchy, government by the few, especially despotic power exercised by a small and privileged group for corrupt or selfish purposes."

Not all of the chaos is coming from Washington. Time for change at Atlanta City Hall?
Atlanta mayor held up MARTA permit over audit dispute, records show
The records appear to back up an assertion by MARTA that the city has intentionally stalled the permit approval process on a project that is now in its ninth month of delay.

2/2 Lt. General Hal Moore and his wife Julie earned the honor of the fort, where they are buried, being named for them. Their service to the military and to our country is well known here in Georgia. This action is a slap in the face to their memory.

How is renaming this military base saving me tax dollars? Gaslighting us about the change - that the change back to Benning is to honor a corporal who served in WWI and not the Confederate general of the same name - is outrageous. 1/2
Pentagon restores Fort Benning name to Georgia military base
The Trump administration on Monday renamed Fort Moore as Fort Benning, reverting the Georgia military base to its earlier name.

DOGE recommends cuts to the FAA.

Hundreds of workers get fired, including those tasked with producing air traffic navigation maps.

Now Starlink is reportedly in line to take over a $2 billion contract to upgrade the nation's air traffic control systems.

See how this works?

It's fun to joke about Trump, and this one captures the essence of who he is, but I'm reminded there really isn't anything funny about what is happening to our country.

WTF indeed!
i have other things to do tonight. But Keisha Lance Bottoms bugs me on general principles right now. She just sent out fundraising emails and texts for "Georgia's Promise," an undefined "progressive" PAC.

Last year, this C-street political operative incorporated "Georgia's Promise Inc."

WTF.

About damn time. Now that he has completely broken our mail system, he resigns. USPS was never perfect, but in the past few years it has gone from fairly dependable to unusable. All thanks to Louis DeJoy. Of course now Trump and Musk/DOGE will probably eliminate it all together.

So the point of the Guantanamo announcement is to distract us from the complete cluster of the funding freeze memo? Talk about the gang that couldn't shoot straight.
