One of the most common replies in any discussion of universal basic income is "but how do we pay for it?" and not once do those same people ever question the costs incurred by not doing UBI. We spend $1.5 trillion every year on the costs of child poverty alone. Poverty ain't free, folks. WE ALL PAY.

What if instead of nation building we did nation healing, and spent billions of dollars to build more medical schools and hire more doctors and nurses?
A coworker of mine applied to med school - was told med schools in Ontario had 6000+ applicants but only about 400 positions.

Tax rich people and massive corporations. Provide universal basic income and healthcare. It's okay for them to have a bit less money and for the rest of us to have a bit more money. We'll spend it back to them anyway. They'll live. We'll all live. As a RIGHT.
Just think it’s a bit weird that society has been brainwashed in to thinking that rich people and massive corporations having a bit less money is the main thing we need to avoid no matter what.

My old college, George Brown College, has closed its culinary arts program because no one is dining out anymore and the job pays so poorly no one wants to be a Chef anymore.
Good.
Put more funding into career paths that will still be here in 5 years.
