Not to be whiny, but I would really like for something good to happen. On a personal level. On a national level. On a global level. One of all three.

Small nonprofit budget and Wilson got us:

-$1.5B in tax the rich revenue for affordable housing, etc.
-free transit for kids and human services appointments, low fare for low income
-big min wage increases in 3 places
-renter protections around the region

Harrell had billions and did far less.

There have been multiple digs in the last week or so--interesting that coordination hmm--at @seattletru.bsky.social's annual revenue hovering around $200k/year as a reason why @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social isn't "qualified" to be Mayor.

If she pulled all this off with $200k, imagine her with $1.9b.

Seattle, we gotta elect Katie Wilson! Her leadership style is everything we need to take our city into its next chapter. We have been spinning our wheels on too many major issues for too long. This is how we move forward. www.thestranger.com/news/2025/10...

Streets are the largest public spaces in modern society.

Surrendering them for the sole use of cars allows maintaining the right of way to be used as pretext to suppress lawful assembly.

We’ve been shoved around by state cops with batons. They’ve already arrested one person for being in the street.

If you saw a headline about NYC potentially losing two big transit projects "because of the government shutdown," know this: 1) it's bullshit, and 2) ending the shutdown on the Trump administration's terms would be terrible for transit *all across the country*, and very likely in your community. 🧵
Is Sec. Duffy Holding NY Transit Hostage To Negotiate Away The Rest of America's Transportation Future? — Streetsblog USA
The federal Transportation secretary is using two large transit projects as a bargaining chip to bully Congress into passing a budget that could be disastrous for communities across the country.

Disinformation thrives without data

No jobs numbers = the economy isn't struggling!

No food insecurity data = people are fed!

No education research = defunding and threatening schools doesn't hurt kids!

No public health studies = our policies aren't making people sick!

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

Completely unnecessary.

But one headline here is what isn't changing, for example ST is going to keep running the 577 and 578 to Federal Way. ST is keeping the 545 to Redmond.

Here are the proposed changes to ST Express routes planned for next fall after Federal Way and East Link are open.

Biggest changes: terminating the 574 at Fed Way, the 556 at Bellevue, the 522 at S Shoreline. Eliminating the 515, 550, 554, 580, 586. Increasing service on the 535, 513.
I-5 corridor changes with 580 and 586 eliminated and 574 terminated in Federal Way Discontinue 550 and 554, shortening 556 to Bellevue Adding bidirectional service to 513, discontinue 515, route 522 to S Shoreline and increase Saturday frequency and add Sunday service to 535

I found myself so much more connected to the seasons, to my body and to community.

So yes, I saved money when I sold my car. But that is the tip of the ice berg.

It changed my paradigm and how I interact with the world.
kellireef.bsky.social
It wasn’t all sunshine and butterflies. My class went for a whole year and I rode in the dark, pouring rain home from Mulkiteo to Lynnwood.

Once I was super sick and had to call a cab because there was a bus that didn’t run on Sundays.

But it shifted so much about how I approach life.
kellireef.bsky.social
So I experimented with taking transit and biking to get to the island. It was a two day thing, so I had to stay overnight. I was connected with this amazing bunk house run by an artist and a death doula. It transformed my herbalism class into a monthly mini retreat.
kellireef.bsky.social
I was driving my car once per month to an herbalism class on Whidbey Island. My car battery died on the ferry. People are not pleased with you when that happens and a ferry worker has to come jump your car.

I hated the expense of driving on the ferry and I-5 really negated the healing farm vibes.
kellireef.bsky.social
Now I am car free because I fall into the “obsessed with biking & public transit” category, but I didn’t start out that way. When I moved to Seattle in 2009 I worked many part time jobs at once retail, teaching yoga, nannying. I couldn’t afford car insurance or maintenance. #WeekWithoutDriving

Ugh, I hate when they only have reverse commute buses! I’m sorry
kellireef.bsky.social
“Altogether, that represents a staggering 36 percent of the U.S. population; only 25 percent of total transportation infrastructure spending, meanwhile, flows towards transit, biking, and walking.”

It is time to rightsize our transportation budgets to meet the needs of people. #WeekWithoutDriving

Actually, now is the perfect time for hope and passion! It is the antidote to fascism.

Also, claiming @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social is inexperienced is way off base! She has over a decade of making policies come to fruition through coalition building, hard work and pragmatism.
ericacbarnett.bsky.social
In his closing statement, Harrell said, "This is not the time for hope. Passion and great ideas and inexperience is just not going to get us there. Trump will walk all over a person without experience, period."
