Just a small-town girl living in a lonely world
Watching The Jeffersons from 1975. Besides the fashion and decor, this blew my mind. (“Pretty soon the only people left in New York will be the very rich and the very poor.”)

At TV on the Radio at Lincoln Theater. They just said the first place they played in DC was Baltimore. “We love Baltimore. I’ve never been met with more ‘who the fuck are you do something cool’.”

Anohni and the Johnsons at the Lincoln Theater in DC was a beautiful experience. I feel so lucky to have been able to experience it

I have been given the feedback that I’m off-putting in person but more approachable online. I feel both seen and a little hurt

At a show in a small dive bar. I almost got caught up in a mosh pit. This is how Gen X breaks their hips

An in-office day with a surprise meeting. I grabbed a notebook and pen with 15 seconds worth of ink. I had to write inordinately hard on the paper and hope I could remember what was asked of me when I got back to my desk. This feels like a metaphor for RTO

Work from home in an admin job so have very little human interaction. I grow plants on my desk that i have given names & talk to. Irene just won plant of the week for the most growth, which is fantastic as she's never been the same since we lost Bertie to root rot.

I appreciate that my partner is FURIOUS at the assholes on FB shit-posting about a small, woman-owned bar in the neighborhood closing. “Sometimes the food was a little cold,” “the bartenders were too chatty.” FUUUUCK YOU, SHITBAGS. They all deserve the Chick-fil-A that will invariably replace it

First day back in the office in almost 4 years. I saw a dead deer and a line of portapotties on the way to work. That feels about right

This has to be one of the more dystopian shows I’ve ever seen.

Mary has a 1000-yard stare while her ugly baby tries to make eye contact and covertly flips her off. As if she didn’t already know how he felt.

I just finished reading A Snake Falls to Earth by the exceptionally talented @littlebadger.bsky.social. It's a sweet, gentle bit of magical realism that felt like a vacation to read. I highly recommend it for Banned Book Week, despite the lack of graphic sex, violence, or drugs.
This is some bullshit. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed Elatsoe by the same author, and I’m excited to read this. Just in time for Banned Book Week

Continuing to delete posts from my Twitter account as house-cleaning and a good-bye. One from New Year’s 2014 saying it was a tough year. Sweet summer Kelly, you have no idea how much worse it’s going to get :-/
