Feel free to attribute the following to a former OMB General Counsel: The supposed "new legal analysis" is, to use a technical legal term, horseshit. What the law actually says is that when Congress enacts a law ending a lapse, furloughed employees get paid at the earliest date possible. Period.

A small problem with Bluesky is that there is a critical mass of users who miss Twitter because they want to yell at those who disagree with them and be combative with people in power, but absent that, they decide to nitpick with their allies and making annoyingly obvious comments to feel something.
