Not here for pointless arguments, and if you want that my method is block early and without regret. Living the dream in the deep south Pacific. Probably lots of dog photos, beach and bush. Failing at trying to avoid politics. I make a lot of typos.

Wooohoooo! Last time we crashed interest rates like this was after the very brilliant global financial crisis... Oh, and then we did it again after that pesky pandemic shut the global economy down.
The good times are truly here again though. And this time we're going it alone! Great work everyone.

My genius financial plan is to maintain high loads of debt because our financial genius government has fucked the local economy so badly that the reserve bank is hitting historical levels of interest rates cuts so when the AI bubble bursts they'll drop to negative interest and pay me for my debt!

AMD: Terrific. That will be $78 billion. How would you like to pay?

OpenAI: Well, we were thinking that we would announce the deal, and that would add $78 billion to the value of your company, which should cover it.

AMD: …

OpenAI: …
How do those negotiations go? Like, schematically:

OpenAI: We would like six gigawatts worth of your chips to do inference.

AMD: Terrific. That will be $78 billion. How would you like to pay?

OpenAI: Well, we were thinking that we would announce the deal, and that would add $78 billion to the value of your company, which should cover it.

    AMD: …

    OpenAI: …

AMD: No I’m pretty sure you have to pay for the chips.

    OpenAI: Why?

AMD: I dunno, just seems wrong not to.

OpenAI: Okay. Why don’t we pay you cash for the value of the chips, and you give us back stock, and when we announce the deal the stock will go up and we’ll get our $78 billion back.

AMD: Yeah I guess that works though I feel like we should get some of the value?

OpenAI: Okay you can have half. You give us stock worth like $35 billion and you keep the rest.

Fucksake. It's quite clear now that they only looked at this benefit policy as political marketing and took no advice on who it would impact – which includes young people with serious health issues and disabilities. Just feckless and cynical. Shame on them. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
Hundreds of teens with a health condition, disability may be cut from Jobseeker benefit
The government is ending Jobseeker payments to 18- and 19 year olds whose parents earn more than $65,000.

If Nicola Willis thinks we “shouldnt be so precious that we can’t use metaphorical speech” can we go back to why Chlöe Swarbrick was punished so heavily for her comments on the government’s spinelessness?

This is funny as fuck, not what he said of course, but the fact that he just freezes and acts like he's invisible or something 🤣

The scary thing is that they are clearly acting if trump does have plenary authority and right now nobody is stopping him.
