My lighter colored quail chicks ended up looking different than any of their parents, might be recessive genes, or could be from 2 or more genes working together in a different way. Genetics is fun.

I have an idea for some kid's science fair project. Go to a dairy farm, take some agar plates and take samples to culture from cow's udders and some surfaces maybe some raw milk, then take a culture of pasteurized milk.
