I am so sorry for your friend. It makes no sense that if the family is willing & able to safely care for the person at home, that that hospital wouldn't discharge them to home with orders to have Home Health nurses/aides come in to support the family and handle any more involved care.

I don't think Oct 18 is going to bring about the end of the authoritarian takeover of this country, but people here have got to get comfortable with mass protest before their thoughts can be shifted to any actions that may end up being more disruptive to advancing fascism.

Got my #Novavax #Nuvaxovid COVID vaccine this morning. I had my #FluShot a couple weeks ago when offered one at work. The CDC officially adopted ACIP's recommendations today, so if it's been hard to get COVID shots where you live due to alignment of state law with CDC recs, try again this week.

CDC has finally adopted the recommendations its vaccine panel made Sept. 19. This should increase access to Covid vaccines somewhat — CVS and Walgreens had said once the recs were official, they'd offer the shots w/o Rx nationwide, and Vaccines for Children program also needed the official approval

I’m horrified by Trump’s order to send 300 National Guard troops to Chicago. We’re only nine months into a four year term and already the president is trying to invade an American city. If you’re in the Guard, you can and should refuse these orders.

I hope the judge also barred bringing in National Guard units from US Territories in addition to States and D.C., because both Puerto Rico & Guam have their own National Guard units and I wouldn't put it past this regime to pull something like that.

Every single one of these North Carolina politicians voted to shut down the federal government rather than allow the Affordable Care Act to continue operating, which will result in a doubling of everyone's health insurance premiums.
