I think of it as relative and absolute morality, instinctively we measure how bad someone is by comparing with expectations, but this results in already bad people getting a free pass
Personally I try to correct for it by comparing with some other measure instead of depending on my expectations

Zonepane is awesome, having multiple accounts on multiple platforms as feeds in one app is really nice
Shame there's no "post everywhere at once" button but it's still better than going to several different apps

I don't know which of my kouhais need to hear this, but because I'm seeing this in a ton of commercial J>E game locs: you really shouldn't retain quotation marks in the same places as the Japanese source text 9 times of 10, especially outside dialogue. Punctuation parity in general is often sloppy.

I'd just like to complain a bit that the bloody fictional Sindarin Elvish gets an entry in Crow Translate (which is cool) while Hokkien, a language with 10s of millions of native speakers, doesn't.

Discord logged me out of all devices after I reported two spammers and it legit looked indistinguishable from if I just lost access to my account since it's plausible hovering those spam messages alone could trigger some exploit

Everytime I see a Taiwanese using 聖母 as a fucking insult I die a bit inside and this is precisely why
BUT. The fact that we’re even having to defend empathy at all (?!?!) shows a larger cultural backlash against vulnerability, compassion, and interdependence. (Not independence- INTERdependence).
