Why? Because your readers do. The literary world is full of people wanting to write children’s books, who haven’t looked at a children’s book since the 60s. Or people who want the sales associated with romantasy (or cosy crime, or sci-fi), but don’t actually know the genre, or want to read any.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 1579: If you’re going to write in any genre (children’s fiction, SFF, romance, etc), you need to read EXTENSIVELY in that genre. You need to read current authors in the genre. You need to know what’s been done; what tropes exist; how the genre has changed.

Babe.... If you're having trouble drawing something, tracing CAN help you learn. Everyone's learning process is different. You shouldn't spread this information like it is universal.

Miyazaki survived the bombing of Utsunomiya as a child. His family escaped in a car, but left a neighbor and her daughter behind to save themselves. Miyazaki regrets this, and said this has stayed with him and shaped his film making. He hopes his audience will learn the courage he lacked in 1945.

The government says it’s restricting sales, but the data says otherwise.

Panel 4 - Walking through the entrance, he acts like everything is fine.
He greets Susan with a “morning susan!”
Susan, looking down at her work, says “That's an interesting way of saying good afternoon, Corry”
Corry responds sheepishly “Ah, sorry.”
Panel 5 - Susan continues - “Luckily, we are still ahead thanks to your stint the other night.”
Corry - ”thanks… I can't seem to keep track of my time these days (he's looking away, stressed and ashamed.)
