If your perception is that all interactions are transactional and that there is no such thing as sincerity of curiosity, or a desire to discover, then you will never value science.

No matter how many economic arguments there are for funding it.

Because you don’t understand the fundamental premise.

Hardly new info, but BSky should know:

Warsaw's water quality is monitored by eight clams with magnets attached to their shells. If contamination in the water causes the clams to close, the magnets trigger an alarm and shut off the city's water supply.
Thank you, little guardian molluscs.

it's never been about making it "great" again. it's always just about controlling people.

i wish there's a rule to have 90 mins set aside every day just for reading. not just extra 90 mins each day which i may end up just tidying up. but 90 mins that i can only read and do nothing else.

more and more i found out someone who i used to respect for his value doesn't really have much integrity. the standard is different based on different people. and i'm saddened to realize that.

reading some of the comments about the tragedy makes me so angry. a lot obviously have no clue about aviation or atc. people died. it's very tough for those involved. stop being a moron just for your own ego. stfu.

the thing is people who send those materials want/need attention. ignoring or telling them i don't want the information is going to madden them and hence still affecting the relationship...

rant/1
i went out of the inn room with my son to head for dinner. the lady next door came out and wanted to talk to me. she said it was "too noisy" while frowning, shaking her head.

was made fun of coming from a beautiful world coz of my hope for humanity. was thinking "don't u think the world is beautiful too!?" but also found it annoying as my family was abusive. this explains the contradiction perfectly.

Ever wondered why walking around museums is weirdly tiring? At normal speed our legs act like pendulums, swinging forward from the hip & saving us a huge amount of energy. In "museum shuffle" our muscles must do ALL the work of constant readjustment. So cake in the cafe is scientifically justified 🥳
