Reminds me of being an undergrad and doing a research project in immunology at JCSMR at ANU in '73. Morning and afternoon tea was common. In the afternoon you could end up sipping your tea (coffee, please) and talking to animal techs, grad students, or some of the best scientists in Australia. 🧪

For college level and above, the best is Janeway's Immunobiology by Murphy and Weaver but its neither simple or inexpensive. Abul Abbas' Cellular and Molecular Immunology is also good but again not inexpensive. Maybe a good start would be Immunology Made Ridiculously Simple by Massoud Mahmoudi.
