I wonder the same. Even when space was tighter, feels like gravity would have taken its time to swirl matter into meaningful lumps. Was light pressure mentioned in relation (no pun) to this? I can only imagine some force (ditto) like that would be necessary to kickstart the structures.

So the expansion happens in relation to the original size? Or everything becomes increasingly slower (compared to its past)? Are these essentially the same thing?

Now my mind boggles, too.

Would need the math of that physics to understand and even then might fail to popularize :p

I think this is a great question. I think redshift is related to the answer, even if I fail to express the idea. A thing 13.5bly from us in early universe shines blue (short wavelength). The light starts out and travels toward us but its wavelength expands on the way so it appears red to us. 1/2

now I'm trying to visualize the shape of the past light cone adjusted for future increasing expansion rate in (2) and failing ... a tear drop? a cylinder whose heads eventually cone into single points?

It is, but it's kind just keep coming to search for it in the lake, howling its name in foggy nights. They enter the lake by squeezing through a crack at its bottom from Pellucidar, driven there through a portal from a secret nazi base at the dark side of the moon, robots built there to confuse us.

I’ve always argued that that the desire to be a billionaire is a sign of malfunction. The desire to hoard more resources than you can consume in a single lifetime is a sign that something is broken in someone’s wiring.

This isn’t a dry run.

ICE goons are being encouraged to aggressively push until
they get a response. Trump is hoping an ICE goon gets shot. He wants bloodshed.

Trump is trying to provoke a civil war, so he can send in the army, and suspend the Constitution.

More than he already has.

Yeah, the economic accounting system is fundamentally flawed as it undervalues or outright ignores externalities.

That practically forces the system to wrong directions.

And the farther along the wrong path we go, the harder it is to fix the issues. At least without a crisis.
