Interrupting your doomscrolling with a fun project I did to prevent myself from doomscrolling: a LEGO MOC of the world map from The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past video game. I used bricks we had on hand, so the colors and shapes aren’t perfect, but pretty dang close for small scale!
On the left is a 1 foot by 1 foot Lego MOC (my own creation) that recreates the iconic world map from the Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past video game in Lego. On the right is a printout of the 8-bit map from the game itself. The Lego version is a fairly close approximation, albeit much much blockier!

Accessibility is popular, it's rare I meet anyone who thinks it doesn't matter.

Usually it's the systemic failures that make us de-prioritize it, things like perceived tight timelines, low budgets, lack of resources.

Regardless, the future world is accessible. There's too many of us that want it

lots of people know Łink from what he did to promote alt text usage here. this tip about pretending you’re describing an image over the phone has been burned in my brain since i saw it
bluesky post from
@knilirabaj.bsky.social that says

It's pretty cool you're using that alt text accessibility feature. It's not cool that you're not really describing the image though. Nice and simple is a good start. Descriptive and accurate is the way to go. You'll get the hang of it. Try pretending you're describing the picture over the phone.

💥 did a small drawing explaining the JS execution model including the event loop. I hope it’s helpful to folks. Debugging is always easier when the underlying implementations are understood.

I have been a very happy Netlify user for many years now! Ohshitgit.com has served millions of people on their infra and I’ve never had an issue.

No need for a migration, it works seamlessly. Just link your NextJS (or any other framework you have on Vercel) repo to Netlify and it works. If it doesn’t reach out to me directly and I’ll make sure the team will check it
ksylor.bsky.social
Now would be a great time for Netlify to create and/or heavily market an automated way to migrate to their platform from the fashier parts of the internet
