Dex speaks the truth. I’m on the very outer fringes of this (friends’ kids go there, including one who didn’t know child’s status for 30 minutes; daughter-in-law works in a local hospital pediatric unit) and the waves are still destabilizing.
the thing that gets me about this shit is that every time this happens, it's not just that people died. It's that families experienced massive trauma. That everyone in that neighborhood is traumatized. That we as an entire city are grieving. The effect ripple out constantly.

Just dropping by to say that @aurinmpls.bsky.social has *the best* newsletters. There is so much information! It is so thoughtfully organized! I learn so much!

Every time I catch up on her work, I feel such appreciation for her fierce, committed advocacy for Ward 12 and Minneapolis.

That's all.

This and also the 100% carbon free electricity by 2040, one of the most ambitious clean energy standards in the country #MelissaHortman
When Tim Walz became Kamala Harris's running mate, progressives highlighted policies passed. It could not have been possible without Melissa Hortman.
-Free school breakfast and lunch
-Restoring voting rights for felons
-Paid leave

I've known @peterwagenius.bsky.social for 20 years. If I lived in SD60, I'd vote for him. He balances a calm thoughtfulness w/a fierce commitment to people-centered/people-driven policymaking. He's knowledgeable, effective, engaged and kind. This is a nice write-up, if you're curious about him.

There is nothing more humbling than attempting to herd Quackers and Graham Crackers into their coop.

“Warm water? Nah. Tasty food? Nope. This strange woman, waddling around and saying ‘Duck duck?’ Let’s just run around until she loses her patience and her mother-in-law bails her out.”

👋 A good friend and her 10-year-old daughter would like to get involved in progressive, multi-issue advocacy. What are some of your favorite groups that are skilled at supporting multi-generational advocacy experiences, especially with kids at this age? FWIW, they live in the NW suburbs of Mpls.
