grant funding gone. projects half finished. devastation deepens. this reality plays out over and over again and needlessly so with the latest rescission bill.

Compliance is not a binary, it's a spectrum. And while this administration is defying way more court orders than any prior administration, it still complies with a great number -- indeed, the majority -- of them.

Democrats getting occasional "Gotcha" clips don't matter because the cabinet members know there are no consequences.

So until Democrats start pulling any enforcement levers they can find (contempt, impeachment), they’re just watching the neutering of their oversight.

ICE's actions in how they arrested her also vile. This is a woman who has been diligently checking in with ICE since before it even existed, back when it was INS — for more than a quarter of a century.

And yet they grabbed her outside her home while she was gardening. Why not just call her in?

Pretty much. There's no debate that they CAN deport her (although from the circumstances it seems quite likely they violated regulations on revocation of orders of supervision), but the question is why the HELL would you deport someone like her who's had a stay of removal since 1998?
