I’m absolutely flabbergasted to find out that, when they told us privatisation would lead to greater private investment, they were lying. Next you’ll be telling me the whole things was a con from the start, designed to make rich people richer at our expense.

New writer Stanley Root’s analysis of Thames Water’s accounts shows that there has never been a year since privatisation when shareholders contributed more cash than they took out

When private Healthcare comes to the UK, are you going bankrupt?

Or are you dying?

The murder of a business executive is awful but I understand people's reactions to it. Let these executives, companies and legislators live in fear until there are wholesale changes to how healthcare is administered in this country.

Americans on social media showed virtually no sympathy for the apparently targeted killing of UnitedHealthcare's CEO by mystery gunman in New York.

PFI blighted public purse/services.

Govt guaranteed corporate profits.

Example: private sector invested £40m in the NHS, repayment £1.1bn, less spent on healthcare.

Cheaper for the govt to borrow, can do QE for public services.

Streeting wants more PFI. SAY NO.

More evidence that austerity is undermining democracy.

When it first became clear that Macron would rely on support from Le Pen's RN to try to properly up a government hell bent on austerity, most doubted it would turn out well.

And they were right!

In July, I FOI'd the Home Office for the full breakdown of spending on the Rwanda scheme

I was refused because the government planned to publish the data in future, and today is the day. These numbers are in millions

So it turns out they spent £715 million on sending a grand total of FOUR volunteers to Rwanda.

For comparison, this is more than you could expect to spend on building an entire brand new hospital in the UK

Every time a man in public life is forced to ‘step down’ because of poor conduct that position should, forevermore, only be held by a woman.

That should sort out gender equality.

Add a dose of power and status and these men appear to feel legitimised to use women how they choose.

Call out all misogyny.
