Finlandization of the Eastern Flank is a very real threat. We already see this in domestic politics. Both far right loons AND Very Serious People (tm) calling for critics of the US to shut up for the sake of Finnish national security. And/or the sake of Finnish businesses.

They want to Finlandize you. There will always be ambitious and greedy individuals who would be willing to use their relationships with a superpower and its intelligence agencies as a blunt instrument for their personal gain and against their opponents. This is a very real danger for us too.

Es droht ein 2-Klassen Menschenrechtssystem. Die universelle Geltung der Menschenrechte und damit ihr Kern steht auf dem Spiel. Die deutsche Bundesregierung sollte sich - auch aufgrund ihrer historischen Verantwortung - jeglichen Szenarien dieser Art entgegen stellen.
